ABOUT US
Founded in June 2020, Mustard Design Studio was born during one of the most uncertain
phases of the world — making it what we fondly call our “pandemic baby.” What began as a small design practice driven by passion, resilience, and years of industry experience has today evolved into a design-led interior studio working across residential, retail, and
commercial spaces. With over 18 years of experience in the design industry, our founder,
Hiral Shah, built the studio on the belief that interiors are not just about aesthetics — they
are about experiences, emotions, functionality, and storytelling.
Over the years, Mustard Design Studio has designed and executed 70+ projects across
homes, retail spaces, and commercial environments. From experience-driven retail stores and furniture studios to deeply personal residences, our work has always focused on creating spaces that feel thoughtful, functional, and emotionally connected to the people who use them. Our journey has also been shaped by years of hands-on execution knowledge, retail design expertise from large-format national projects, and recognition through features in leading design publications. More importantly, it has helped us build trust with clients who value design thinking, detail, and meaningful spatial experiences.
As we continue to grow, our aspiration is to build a design practice that creates culturally rooted yet contemporary Indian spaces. OUR Story narrative
Mustard Design Studio was never built from a business plan alone — it was built from years of experience, observations, site visits, conversations, failures, learnings, and a deep love for how spaces make people feel.
After spending years working on large-format retail environments and understanding how design influences human behaviour, experiences, and emotions, founder Hiral Shah started Mustard Design Studio in 2020 with a simple belief — spaces should feel meaningful, not manufactured.
What began during uncertain times slowly grew into a studio that approaches every project
with curiosity, strategy, warmth, and storytelling. Today, MDS works across homes, retail,
and commercial spaces, blending functionality with emotion, and contemporary design with
an Indian soul.
